School Meals
Dinners
School dinners are provided and cooked on site costing £2.10 per day. All dinners should be paid for at the beginning of each week, using ParentPay. In reception through to the end of Year 2, children are universally entitled to a school dinner. At The Oak Tree Academy, we recognise that children sometimes prefer a packed lunch and so we provide school packed lunches for children who choose this.
Packed Lunches
Children can bring a healthy packed lunch as an alternative to a school meal – strictly no nuts, sweets or fizzy drinks. Please give the school office 6 week’s notice of any intention to change from school dinners to packed lunches so that adjustments can be made to kitchen orders. We thank you for your support.
Free School Meals
If you think that you are entitled to free school meals for your child then you need to fill in a form available from the school office. Please note that free school meals cannot be given until the form is filled in and processed by the local authority and entitlement cannot be backdated. To support parents we request that forms are completed on admission to school. If your circumstances change and your child becomes eligible for free school meals, please contact the office.
Fruit at Playtimes
Children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 are provided with a piece of fruit at playtime as a healthy snack. Please remember to advise us of any allergies.
